DW Innovation Heavily Involved at Scoopcamp 2013

On 12 and 13 September 2013, the DW Innovations Project Team will descend on Hamburg to participate in Scoopcamp 2013, an event organised by dpa and Hamburg@work, with Deutsche Welle, Zeit Online and SHIZ as partners. Scoopcamp is dedicated to new forms of (digital) storytelling.

DW Innovation will take a very active role! On the first day, Andy Giefer and Cosmin Cabulea will participate in a hackathon, hosted by German news agency dpa. They will collaboratively work on new forms of content production and show what can be done in a relatively short time frame. Results will be presented in the course of the following day. Follow us via @dw_innovation for live updates.

Day 2 will consist of a number of keynotes in the morning, moderated by Jochen Spangenberg. This will be followed by a great variety of workshops in the afternoon. One of those workshops is "Research and information gathering in social networks and archives", organised and run by Birgit Gray, Kay Macquarrie and Nico Heise. The three of them will showcase prototypes and best practice examples from EC co-funded research projects Social Sensor and AXES, also pointing out existing challenges in the field of content analysis and classification.

The team are looking forward to participating in this exciting event, meeting new (and old) faces, and–obviously–will be giving their very best to contribute to the success of Scoopcamp 2013.
