When: March 21st and 22nd
Where: Geneva, EBU headquarters
What is it? The Big Data Conference hosted by the European Broadcasting Union (EBU) brings together journalists, academics, tech people, legal experts and marketers to discuss the different challenges and opportunities that arise in the context of using big data for public service media in Europe.
Why are we there? EBU BDC addresses issues important for both our work and that of the EBU. Furthermore, dw_innovation will contribute to the conference. Data expert Mirko Lorenz is part of a panel on fact checking and ubiquity. He will give an update on NewsStream, a German big data research project run by dpa, da, Fraunhofer, and Neofonie. The team is currently beta testing a range of tools able to detect and filter large amounts of data for distribution analysis and other purposes. Mirko will also talk about other data-driven dw_innovation projects like Truly Media, Your Data Stories, euBusinessGraph, and Summa.
