Meet Us @ re:publica and Media Convention Berlin

When: 5–7 May 2015
Where: Berlin, "Station", Luckenwalder Str. 4--6, 10963 Berlin, Germany

What is it? re:publica is one of the largest conferences about digital culture in the world. It started out as a gathering of bloggers in 2007, while nowadays, more than 6,000 people attend the annual event hosted in Berlin.

Topics covered range from digital politics and technological innovations to music, culture and media to health and education.

The conference is furthermore an excellent opportunity for experts as well as those interested in digital topics to meet and mingle: hence an ideal event to attend for activists, innovators, scientists, researchers, hackers, trend-spotters, entrepreneurs, NGOs, journalists, (social) media and marketing experts and others interested in the digital present and future.

For this year, the organizers are expecting 800 speakers from more than 45 countries. They will provide an impressive number of sessions totaling about 450 hours.

Following the premiere of last year, re:publica will partner again with the Media Convention Berlin, a congress for the international media industry. The Media Convention takes place on 5 and 6 May only. Both events are co-located and can be attended with the same ticket.

Why are we there?

We are there because many of the topics covered at both re:publica and Media Convention are very central to the work we do and the topics we cover in our research & development projects.

The other reason is to reconnect with existing contacts and partners, while we obviously also are eager to establish new co-operations and partnerships. Of course, another reason to attend is to debate and discuss with those working at the cutting edge of digital media development, and be inspired for future work and ideas.

Finally, our team's Jochen Spangenberg will be a jury member at the MIZ Innovation Space. On 5 May 2015 at 4.15 pm, he–together with AC Coppens and Oliver Koch-Pahl–will be evaluating the projects Holodeck Now!, refer and Shelfd in the MIZ_Innovationlab I session.

If you want to meet us at re:publica / Media Convention Berlin to discuss ideas, possible co-operation opportunities and such like, we would be delighted to hear from you. Feel free to get in touch with DW Innovation's Benedikt Metzen, Nikolaus Heise or Jochen Spangenberg who will be attending.

We will also report via our Twitter channel (Hashtag: #rp15 for re:publica and #MCB15 for Media Convention).
