Another Scoop at Scoopcamp 2014
On September 3rd/4th it was Scoopcamp time again! For the 6th year running, media network next Media Hamburg and German news agency dpa hosted one of Germany’s most influential events in the field of digital storytelling.
The conference’s focus is on new innovative content formats, emerging tools for storytelling and creation, as well as different organizational approaches to reach new audiences with compelling content.
The morning belonged to the keynote speakers ranging from Burt Herman of Storify to Ken Schwencke of the New York Times, both outlining the success and approaches behind their offers. This triggered interesting debates and discussions.

DW Innovation to participate in Europe’s first newsgame hackathon
The Cologne Game Lab and the Good Evil games studio are set to host Europe’s first newsgame hackathon next month in Cologne, Germany, as a Kick-off event for the 5th international computer game conference Clash of Realities.
New Storytelling and The Future of Journalism at scoopcamp 2013
On 12 and 13 September, German press agency dpa and media network Hamburg@work hosted scoopcamp 2013 in the Schmidt theatre on Hamburg’s Reeperbahn. Around 280 people attended the event which focused on topics such as the current status and future of journalism, and new forms of storytelling. A key aspect of presentations and discussions was the disruptions as well as opportunities brought about by digitisation. The Deutsche Welle Innovations Team took a very active role in the event.
